Retreat...

I am heading off to a retreat today. 3+ days in a cabin on a lake. I do this at least a couple of times each year. This is with a group of people who like to play and act as immature as possible. The world and workplaces seems to squash having fun. So when we get away like this weekend, it's truly a wild and fun time!

I know many people who will go on a retreat because it's an event, planned by others, for a certain date. Why can't we do this for ourselves. I mean why not just pick a few dates in the year, then plan our own "Retreat". It doesn't have to elaborate nor expensive. Just a change of scenery, a change in what we do with our time, a chance to have the quiet we all need to chart our future or reflect on our past, or to just BE.

This weekend I'll be canoeing, stargazing, dancing and walking among tall trees. Oh to breath deeply the cool Fall air! Here's to all of us who take the time to enjoy our "trip around the sun"...

1st Post, 1st Blog...

It seems every Blog must start with a 1st post, containing some short rambling like "look at this, I just started a blog!" or "Here is my life story....". Well not for this kitty!

I created the blog (my 1st) on a whim. I have tended to be an early adopter of technology stuff. But blogging seemed too much like Instant Messaging - a waste of everyone's time - to get my attention. Until today. I have seen a couple of blogs before, but they had always seemed too much like sitting on the phone, listening as a not-so-close friend rambled on & on about things even they could hardly find interesting. But today I saw a blog by someone I deeply respect, Eolake Stobblehouse (http://eolake.blogspot.com/). What I saw there was a mix of thought over time. It seems a way to better know the personality of someone when you can't chat face to face. So I thought what the heck.

Who am I? That, my friend, will will come in due course, by following my own journey into blogging. Enjoy!
